Handcrafted at Acura’s Performance Manufacturing Center, this special edition features 3 NSX-inspired colors and several other additions.

With the production of the Ohio-built Acura NSX winding down, Honda has to make use of its bespoke Performance Manufacturing Center (PMC). So, Acura is giving its TLX Type S the handcrafted treatment it previously did with the 2020 TLX, MDX, and the 2021 RDX. Ordering for the 2023 TLX Type S PMC will start later this year.

Buyers of the TLX Type S PMC can choose one of three colors that first appeared on the NSX (perhaps there’s some leftover paint): Curva Red, 130R White, and Long Beach Blue. Other exterior distinctions include a carbon fiber decklid spoiler and rear diffuser and 20-inch copper-finish Y-spoke wheels with Pirelli P-Zero summer tires.

Acura touts that following the hand-assembly process, each TLX undergoes the same checks as the NSX, including a dyno check, paint inspection, and rough-road simulation. Each car gets wrapped in a special cover and shipped in a single-vehicle carrier.

Each TLX comes in one of three interior colors; Ebony, Red, or Orchid (determined by the exterior color). The cabin also has leather-trimmed upholstery with Ultrasuede inserts, carbon fiber trim panels, a flat-bottom heated steering wheel, and a PMC Edition numbered serial plaque on the lower console. Acura even tosses in premium floor mats with Type S badges and colored accent binding.
