The 2022 Ram 1500 TRX is one monstrous pickup truck. It is highly capable and the most promising contender among performance pickup trucks.

Two years ago, Ram decided to introduce the 1500 TRX to compete with the Ford F-150 Raptor and other high-performance pickups. The new 1500 TRX became an instant hit because it featured the Hellcat engine and came with a mean exterior, a sporty cabin, and a decent dose of features.

The 2022 Ram 1500 TRX remains one of the most popular and strongest pickup trucks in the segment. All credit goes to its 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 SRT engine, which also powers the iconic Dodge Challenger Hellcat. The 6.2-liter supercharged V8 is coupled with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and is combined with an all-wheel-drive system. The powertrain is capable of producing a menacing 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque at just 4800 rpm.

With the supercharged V8 engine on board, the TRX is capable of annihilating almost all pickup trucks and impressing with its stout capability. Speaking of its performance, the 2022 Ram 1500 TRX is capable of clocking 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds and covering a quarter-mile in just 12.3 seconds. Hence, the engine behavior is vigorous, and it catches momentum in the blink of an eye. The performance pickup also boasts a towing capacity of 8,220 lbs., making it a highly utilitarian vehicle.

Inside, it comes equipped with front and rear active-performance shock absorbers with an adaptive damping system. The suspension system works great and helps the truck stay stabilized in most conditions. The wheels are equipped with high-performance ventilated disc brakes, which help with the surefooted braking performance, and when slammed, the TRX stops from 60 mph in 129 feet.

The 2022 Ram 1500 TRX is a mean and muscular machine, and once you see it in person, you’ll instantly have an idea of what it is capable of. The exterior is always the first impression of a vehicle, and the TRX’s muscular fascia gives it a strong presence.

The TRX’s fascia comes heavily outfitted with a mean black grille and a RAM logo. According to Ram, the grille has been specially designed to help with airflow and provides the engine with up to 32.9 liters of air every minute. On the side, the fascia has bi-function LED projector headlamps and L-shaped DRLs. In addition, Ram has also beefed up the TRX’s character with a black hood scoop for the supercharger and amber identification lights.

The 2022 Ram 1500 TRX’s well-crafted and spacious interior is one of the best in the segment, and frankly, it’s no less than one in an Italian sports car. Ram has used quality materials and integrated them into a modern yet functional layout. As a result, the cabin feels upscale from head to toe. The cabin feels very spacious and well-curated. The dashboard is functional with a tidy yet sporty layout. The chunky AC vents and the 12-inch portrait-style touchscreen make things easier. Moreover, the controls are ergonomically laid out, making them easy to use on the go.

The cabin offers a massive 132.4 cu. ft. of total passenger volume, which translates to roomy front and rear seats. The front seats have 40.9-inch headroom and 40.9-inch legroom. At the rear, comfort and space are enhanced due to 39.8-inch headroom as well as massive 45.2-inch legroom, which means even the tallest adults will be allotted an ample amount of legroom.

The 2022 TRX’s cabin is loaded with a vast number of features, making it an absolute banger for the price. The cockpit comes equipped with an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with four-way lumbar and front headrests, a TRX instrument cluster with a 7-inch color display, Mopar off-road floor mats, a leather flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters, black and red TRX embossed vinyl seats, a premium overhead console, and a front armrest with storage cubby underneath.

The rear comes equipped with 60/40 foldable bench seats, which feel very comfortable and offer extra storage space when folded. Both the front and rear seats have under-seat lighting functions and an occupant classification system. Besides, the cabin offers many secondary storage spaces, like a mobile phone space in the lower dashboard, a glovebox, an under-armrest storage cubby, two cup holders, and door bins at the front. The rear passengers get two cup holders, an armrest, and two door bins.

For entertainment, the cabin offers a high-quality infotainment system. A 12-inch touchscreen, a 9-speaker premium audio system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, HD radio, SiriusXM, and a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot all come standard in the unit.
