Mercedes-Benz C-Class Tuned By Brabus In Both Petrol And Diesel Forms | Carscoops

Brabus introduced a new tuning package for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class for those who find the AMG C43 and the upcoming C63 performance flagship a little too intimidating. The German tuner is upgrading the petrol and diesel-powered C-Class models with extra power, a lowered suspension, and subtle styling tweaks available for both the sedan and the estate body styles.

Starting with the visual treats, Brabus takes the sportiness of the optional factory-spec AMG Line body kit a little bit further. At the front, there is a new splitter coming out of the sides of the bumper, which is said to reduce front-axle lift, plus new inserts for the AMG-style intakes.

Brabus added its own touch in the Panamericana grille, alongside extra LEDs on the lower part of the bumper. At the back, the tuner added quad exhaust pipes with a diameter of 90 mm (3.5 inches) and a black chrome finish, similar to what we would expect to see in the old V8-powered C63. The C-Class sedan also benefits from a new rear spoiler.

Owners can choose from a variety of monoblock wheels, with a diameter of 18, 19, or 20 inches, shod in Continental, Pirelli, or Yokohama tires. The pictured vehicles are fitted with Brabus Monobloc Z alloy wheels, measuring 19 inches in the estate and 20 inches in the sedan. Handling is improved further thanks to the Brabus sport springs, which bring the C-Class closer to the ground by 20-30 mm (0.8-1.2 inches) depending on the variant.

Inside, sporty touches include the aluminum pedals, the branded floor mats, the illuminated sill plates, and the new upholstery options with fine leather and Alcantara.

As for the performance mods, Brabus is adding the PowerXtra module in the petrol-powered C300 and the diesel-powered C300d variants. The mild-hybrid turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine gains an extra 42 hp (31 kW / 42 PS) and 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) of torque, for a total of 296 hp (221 kW / 300 PS) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. Likewise, the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel gains (33 kW / 45 hp) and 50 Nm (37 lb-ft), resulting in a healthier 306 hp (228 kW / 310 PS) and a meaty 600 Nm (442.5 lb-ft) of torque. Power is sent to the rear or to all four wheels through a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

According to Brabus, the petrol B30 accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.8 seconds while the slightly more powerful D30 diesel completes the sprint in 5.6 seconds. In both cases, the top speed remains limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). Those figures may not be as impressive as the performance credentials of the plug-in hybrid AMG C43 which needs 4.6 seconds for the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint, but the B30 and D30 offer more than enough grunt for most people.

The tuner didn’t reveal pricing but those who are interested can visit the official website and order some of the available upgrades for their C-Class.
