The power comes from a 265 ci V8 with dual four-barrel carburetors, pumping out 225 horsepower when new. Power goes to the rear wheels through a three-speed manual transmission. Photos of the vehicle show that the engine is in showroom quality.

We at the HotCars lab, did a bit of research to see the true value of the car. The inflation rate from 1956 to the present day is 3.65% per year, producing a cumulative price increase of 962.90%. With a price of around $3,500 when new in 1956 (which was about double the price of a family car) this means that this car today would be worth, $37,201 if sold new. Doubling that amount comes to $74,403.06. This means that this car is selling for less than double of its original MSRP (in today's terms) and for the definitive American classic in pristine condition. Well, that's the bargain of the millennium.
